Concussion Crash Course
Get the do’s and don’ts of concussion management.
This concussion ‘taster’ is ideal for athletes, parents, coaches & teams. The 1.5 hour course supplies you with the basics of what a concussion is, how to identify a concussion, the essential steps in the first 48-72 hours, and when to seek medical attention. Observe the administrating of a SCAT 6, including tips & tricks for testing. You will receive an informational package & additional resources.
Sideline Concussion Management Course
These interactive seminars will help athletes, coaches and parents ensure a positive sporting experience. Different seminars held throughout the year will touch on different aspects of Concussion Management & leave you with a detailed information package with resources to share. The hands on approach will guide you through administering several evaluation tools including SCAT 6, King-Devick & Vestibular Occularmotor Screen (VOMS) giving you the skills to perform Baseline Testing for teams.
Also learn:
- How the recognition of the different concussion classifications helps simplify rehab & management.
- The importance of Sleep Hygiene and Pacing & Planning to improve self recovery.
- A seven stage return to play plan that ensures activity is intensified at ideal pace.
Trainer’s Training Camp
For athletes, weekend warriors, coaches and students working with athletes in any sport, at any level & those interested in sports therapy. The 1st day will teach you guidelines around what are basic essentials for medical kits, emergency action plans, & the ins & outs of concussion management. The 2nd day will provide you with a practical setting to learn basic anatomy, taping techniques and basic injury assessment skills for common sports injuries of the ankle, wrist/thumb.
This course is a great way to begin your trainer tool box or as a refresher for more advanced trainers.
- You will be receive a detailed package of information & varies taping products.
- Course is instructed by a Certified Athletic Therapist with several years of experience in field and clinical work.
Advanced Sport Taping: Lower Extremities
Ideal for athletes, coaches, students, parents, trainers looking to expand their knowledge of Sport Taping.
Complex injuries will be simplified; you will learn basic anatomy, taping techniques and basic injury assessment skills for common sports injuries of the knee, thigh & groin.
- This course is hands on with small groups allowing for 1 on 1 instruction opportunities.
- Instructed by a Certified Athletic Therapist with several years of experience in field and clinical work.
- You will receive a detailed package of information & various taping products
Our Sport Taping Basics course is required prior to taking this course.
Advanced Sport Taping: Upper Extremities
Ideal for athletes, coaches, students, parents, trainers looking to expand their knowledge of Sport Taping.
Complex injuries will be simplified; you will learn basic anatomy, taping techniques and basic injury assessment skills for common sports injuries of the shoulder & elbow.
- This course is hands on with small groups allowing for 1 on 1 instruction opportunities.
- Instructed by a Certified Athletic Therapist with several years of experience in field and clinical work.
- You will receive a detailed package of information & various taping products
