What to expect from a Nutritional Counselor

During nutrition counseling sessions, clients work with their practitioner to assess their current eating habits and determine personalized goals for health and wellness. The sessions involve discussions on nutrition education and ways to improve food choices, as well as problem-solving strategies to overcome any barriers to healthy eating. By combining knowledge and tools tailored to each client’s individual needs, nutrition counseling provides a comprehensive approach to achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Sessions are broken up to first assess your nutritional excesses and deficiencies by reviewing your usual food consumption over one week, with particular attention paid to the proportions of protein, fat, starches, sugar, and fibre. The first follow up will review the information from the initial consult & start to look at areas to work on to accomplish your goals. You will work with your practitioner to design a program specifically for you, taking into consideration age, gender, level of fitness, health goals, food sensitivities, food preferences, and eating habits.

Additional follow-ups will be scheduled to dig deeper into your nutrition & goals, including looking at nutritional deficiencies, recommendations for food selection and preparation.

Meal planning is an add-on available to help ease you into your new plan.

Whether you’re a professional athlete or just starting out on your wellness journey, our team is here to support you every step of the way. Contact us today to schedule a consultation and start achieving your best self!
