What is Manual Osteopathy?

Manual Osteopaths identify, assess, and treat the body’s structures and rhythms using a gentle, hands-on approach.

Manual Osteopathy uses Soft Tissue Manipulation, Osteopathic Articular Techniques/Lensen Techniques, Cranial Osteopathy, and Visceral Manipulation techniques to assess for various injuries and diseases of muscles, bones, organs, nerves, and joints.

Based on the findings during the initial assessment one or multiple of the above-listed treatment techniques will be used.

Manual Osteopaths assess and treat the patient as a whole, recognizing that each individual has unique mental, emotional and physical conditions.

By using precise corrections manual osteopaths are able to achieve maximum change with a minimum amount of treatment, which in turn minimizes the amount of after treatment soreness.

What to expect during a treatment?

Upon the first visit, you will go through an in-depth case history and do an initial hands-on structural assessment. From there you will be set up with a treatment plan that is tailored to you and begin the treatment.

Clients should bring a pair of shorts and a tank top or sports bra that they are comfortable in as you may need to get up and move periodically throughout the treatments.

Treatments can range in length depending on what is needed to be done. Appointments are booked by 15-minute increments with an initial assessment being 60-90 minutes long, with treatment to follow.
