Laura joined our Collegiate team in May 2019 travelling all the way from Vancouver Island. Living on the Island Laura was always very active and enjoyed spending her free time outdoors enjoying year-round hiking and biking and exploring the Island. She also enjoys traveling and spent 6 weeks in Indonesia in 2018 where she did a 3-day hike up Mt. Rinjani which has an active volcano. She received her Bachelor of Athletic and Exercise Therapy and certified as an Athletic Therapist in 2015. Since certifying Laura has primarily worked in Occupational health and most recently worked in a Return to Work program. For this position, she had the opportunity to treat injured workers and create rehabilitation programs. Her treatment is focused on educating the clients on their injury and how the use of proper biomechanics and active lifestyle including exercise and stretching that can help treat their injuries and prevent future injuries. Laura’s wealth of knowledge has helped her enrich her expertise with working with athletes, the chronically injured and more recently with our concussion program. When not at the clinic you will find Laura exploring some remote nature trail in Red Deer and dreaming of all the amazing activities Red Deer has in store for her.
