Kara Idland
Massage TherapistWhen you come for a treatment with Kara, you can expect patient-centered care. This means your massage and care plan will be created for you and your needs specifically through means of communication and assessment.
Through years of training, Kara has learned many ways to effectively apply her therapeutic and relaxation techniques. She believes massage should be an enjoyable experience that leaves you feeling better than you did when you walked in. Kara enjoys working with people from all walks of life who have various reasons for seeking manual therapy. Kara’s application is typically firm, slow, and detailed, and her style can be described as “ therapeutically relaxing”.
On her free time she likes to go to the gym and take long walks with friends. She also partakes in a wide spread of outdoor activities depending on the season. Winter time often means many trips to the mountains to ski, snowboard and mountain sled. Summer time brings lake days on the boat wake surfing and trail bike riding.
Growing up, Kara always knew her career would involve helping people in some way. After graduating in 2015 from The Alberta Institute of Massage, she realized quickly that being an RMT also meant that she would be a life-long learner. The world of manual therapy is ever evolving and therefor so is she. Kara is grateful to be a part of the Collegiate sports medicine group, where she can work collaboratively with other practitioners and continue to expand her knowledge.
Kara Idland joined Collegiate at our Red Deer Campus location as a Massage Therapist in June 2022.
